FRENCH HILL DEPOT
Overview
The State of Israel is developing the Jerusalem Light Rail Transit Network Project, also known as the J-Net Project, which will connect the southern and northern parts of Jerusalem, greatly improving public transportation access to the city's neighborhoods and commercial areas. This project follows a PPP (Private-Public Partnership) model and includes the construction of 27 km of new track, 53 new stations, and various depots. The depot located in the French Hill district of Jerusalem has served as the maintenance hub for the currently operating Alstom LRVs and will continue to do so. However, starting in 2022, the new CAF fleet will operate alongside the existing line, with maintenance for both fleets taking place at the French Hill Depot.

Conclusion
The new facilities have been designed to complement the existing infrastructure and provide additional capacity for trains, materials, equipment, and staff. The new buildings and associated facilities are designed to efficiently and safely meet maintenance and operational needs. Train maintenance includes both light and heavy tasks, such as major vehicle overhauls and vehicle commissioning, while also providing workshop and tooling facilities necessary for major overhauls, servicing HVAC units, replacing bogies, and servicing on-board systems.
